Sarah Caimano

Fourth year Honours Neuroscience major with a minor in Criminology

from Montreal, QC​

​

Sarah is currently working as a Research Assistant within the Community and Youth Lab. She has been working on a project with UNICEF as part of her honours thesis. This project aims to understand youth’s perceptions and experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sarah has also worked on the Change Study alongside other lab members.

Spencer Christensen

Jenni Allin

Fourth year Psychology and Fine Arts major

from Victoria, BC

​

Within the lab, Jenni works as a research assistant. She primarily works on analyzing data and helping the other members with their honours theses. This past year, Jenni participated in coding and presenting data at a #CanadaWeWant conference in November.

Fifth year double Honours in Classical Music and Psychology, from Vernon, BC

​

Spencer has worked in the lab for over three years. She has worked on a variety of projects, including background research, ethics proposals, an independent study, and an Honours Thesis. Her previous work looked at gender-based violence in collaboration with the Students Commission of Canada, creating vignettes as a tool for group discussion.  Spencer is looking to validate these vignettes in order to see if it can be used as a measurement tool.

Fiona Amara 

Third year Psychology major (Honours)

from Quebec City, QC

​

Fiona has been working in the lab since her first year, as a research assistant. For her Honours Thesis, she is looking at the roles of alienation and generativity in predicting political behaviour among young adults. Fiona is currently working on the Community Resilience Fund project. She has always been intrigued by how we hope to leave our legacy in the world.

Elizabeth McBain

Third year Applied Psychology major

from Quebec City, QC

​

Elizabeth is currently working on the Community Resilience Fund project, and is currently a Peer Supporter at Bishop's BUnited Peer Support Center! Elizabeth plans to continue her education in counselling psychology and to go onto empowering and working with youth!

Annabelle 

Chamberland-Dostie

Second year Neuroscience major, from Trois-Rivières, QC

​

Annabelle is the Logistics Coordinator of the CandY Lab! She organizes all logistics of the lab, including meetings, agendas, and coordinating volunteers. Annabelle is also the lead of the Community Resilience Fund project and co-lead of the Youth Generativity Study project. She also worked on analyzing and coding data collected from the 2020 #CanadaWeWant conference, and presented findings at the 2020 knowledge exchange conference.

Sherif Youssef

Second year Neuroscience major

from South Shore, Montreal, QC

​

Sherif has been a research assistant within the Community and Youth Lab since 2020. He has been primarily working as a coder for the Youth Generativity Study, which is one of the CandY lab’s flagship projects. Last year, alongside 4 other lab members, he worked on analyzing data from the #CanadaWeWant conference held in early 2020. The team presented their findings at the 2020 SCC Knowledge Exchange. Recently, Sherif has been working harder than ever on the youth and generativity study, finding nominees, coding transcripts and analyzing the data.

Julianne Cairns

Second year Psychology (neuroscience) major, from Two-Mountains, QC

​

Julianne has been working as a research assistant and as the Tomlinson Intern. This internship focuses on knowledge mobilization and exploring the application of lab knowledge in community programs and initiatives. Examples include building program evaluation tools for a community organization dedicated to promoting literacy in Estrie. Julianne is also a student co-lead on the Youth Generativity Study, involved in the Community Resilience Fund project, and has been involved in coding and presenting data from youth conferences held by the Students Commission of Canada (SCC).

Enzo Evangelisti

Third year Applied Psychology major from Montreal, QC 

​

Enzo is a research assistant within the CandY Lab. He has been a lab member since his first year at Bishop's and has worked as a general volunteer. Some of his work includes the Change Study which looked at measuring the change youth allies witness during youth conferences. Enzo is particularly interested in youth leadership!

Gabrielle Tétreault

First year Psychology major and Mindfulness and Contemplative Studies​ minor, from Sherbrooke, QC

​

Gabrielle has been working as a coder for the Youth Generativity Study, and also worked alongside other lab members in coding data collected at the 2020 Canada We Want conference, presenting it at the 2020 CWW Knowledge Exchange. Gabrielle is particularly interested in youth and in investigating Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR). Gabrielle is a Teaching Assistant in the French department and is on the executive for the Bishop's University Undergraduate Psychology Society.

Trisha Lamb

Third year Psychology major and Biology minor, from Ottawa, ON

​

Trisha is a research assistant within the lab, and has been working to support the Generativity and Extremism knowledge mobilization team on their activities with the Students Commission of Canada. Trisha has also been working alongside other lab members to code interview transcripts for themes of generativity.
