After Dr. Heather Lawford was appointed Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Youth Development, the Sherbrooke Record did a short piece highlighting her research at Bishop's University.

"'It's such an honour to join the two other remarkable researchers at Bishop's who have become CRC.' Lawford, who usually teaches child development classes, was also the coordinator for the Psychological Health and Well-being Research Cluster at the university and worked with the Teaching and Learning Centre. Her CRC research will explore the concept of generativity in youth, a life period that is otherwise rarely studied. 'We realize that that motivation and desire to bring change and contribute happens earlier in the lifespan of young people. So far, young people are really motivated to have a lasting impact on their community. Being a CRC will allow us to examine generativity from the perspective of young people and observe the contributions they want to make and are already making' expressed Lawford."
